Just a month after the qualification for World Cup 2011 concludes, starts the journey for the next group of nations aspiring to a place in the World Cup of 2015, with the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 7 in Guernsey in May.

By virtue of being quarter-finalists in the 2008 ACC Trophy Elite Bahrain represent the ACC in the event, where they will be taking on the hosts as well as Gibraltar, Japan, Nigeria and Suriname.

The top two will move up to Division 6 to be played in Singapore in September, where the hosts and Malaysia lie in wait. “Bahrain have invested in a good coach since the start of the year in Mohsin Kamal and the rise from Division 5 to Division 1 of Afghanistan has inspired them. I see no reason why Bahrain shouldn’t climb up the ICC rankings Division by Division,” says ACC Development Officer for Bahrain Rumesh Ratnayake.
