SAUDIS SPREAD THE GAME IN ARABIC

“From just a handful of Saudi players five years ago, we have close to 100 Saudi youths who are playing regular cricket today,” says Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) CEO Nadeem Nadwi. This on top of the hundreds of cricketers of expatriate origin playing in the Kingdom. To reach a new generation of Saudis the SCC has reprinted the ICC’s 'What is Cricket?' in Arabic to distribute among local schools.

“Pictures and words by themselves won’t make children fall in love with cricket but the aim is to make the schools realise that cricket is fun and easy to play. Once the children play cricket, I’m sure they’ll love it,” said Mr. Nadwi.
