ACC WOMEN'S TOURNAMENT SET FOR JULY 2007

The ACC will hold its first women's tournament this year with up to eight teams taking part. Bangladesh have yet to confirm their participation and should they do so, they will join China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand and the UAE. The event will be held in Malaysia from July 11-17.

"This is a significant step forward for cricket in Asia. India and Pakistan have led the way in this respect for a number of years and opening the game up to more women to compete will lead a new band of countries to international prominence", says Shubhangi Kulkarni, Head of the ACC Committee for Women.
