Malaysia will be hosting another Pepsi ICC World Cricket League event, Division 4 this time. It is the second time they have done so. Malaysia will be playing against fellow Division 5 promoted
side Singapore as well as Denmark, Nepal, Tanzania and USA. The event is likely to be held in September 2012 or January 2013.
Speaking from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Cricket Association General Manager Clarence Selvam said, “We’re delighted to be hosting another international event, which will be the third of our year (after the ACC U-16 Elite Cup in May and ACC U-19 Asia Cup in June). It may be however that the Pakistan v Australia internationals
will be played in Malaysia, in September, in which case we will have to schedule the WCL Division 4 to January of next year.”
The decision for Malaysia to host the World Cricket League event was taken at the latest ICC Development Conference meeting in Bangkok. Bermuda will be hosting Division 3, in which Oman will be playing. The top two teams from Division 4 will join them there. The Pepsi ICC World Cricket League forms part of the International Cricket Council's qualification structure
for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, in which four Associate/Affiliate countries will take part.Related:Malaysia Cricket ProfileACC TournamentsFiled May 24th, 2012
