“I wanted to lend a hand in cricket’s development in Iran and other Persian speaking communities”, adds Mr. Rana. A version of the Laws has existed in Farsi since 1980 but this version takes into account the revisions of 2003. “I think that the Laws have a massive influence on players and the game itself, especially Law 42 on Fair and Unfair Play, which is actually the summary of cricket”, says Mr. Rana.

It awaits final proofing from the ACC Secretariat and MCC. Once approved, it will join the Mandarin Translation (2005) and Urdu Translation (2006). ‘The little blue book’ also exists in Marathi and an Arabic version is on the way.
