In the process of achieving the target, Pakistan lost the only wicket which was of their second opener Ali Imran, who was the second centurion of the opening match.

In its chase of UAE’s 233 for nine, Pakistan had an early below when one of their openers Imran lost his wicket in the fourth over at five when the team’s score was eight. But Farhan developed a responsible innings getting to 104 in 120 balls. He found and able partner in Talat who also scored a century, which was much aggressive than his mate. Ahmed Raza was the only successful bowler of the UAE attack as he had the wicket of Imran.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Muhammad Rizwan having won the toss opted to field and his decision yielded positive result because after being toiled for 12 overs host team bowlers found inroads in UAE batting. In the 13th over Ashiq Ali trapped UAE captain Roshan Mustafa leg before wicket for 25 when their team was at 63. But their other opener Ashfaq Ahmed kept his cool to get the score ticking alongside Ghulam Shabber (10). They took the score to 103 before the latter became the second victim of Ashiq.

The UAE team that has a positive start to their score was down by four wickets at 121 in 29.2 overs. Muhammad Usman taking the guard at number six place with Shaiman Anwar bolstered their team score in tits and bits. After Anwer was sent back to the pavilion at his personal 27 and at team’s 159 for six; Usman stayed put.

Lingering at one end to gather cautious 51, Usman witnessed his colleagues march back one after the other. The only player who entered into the double figures afterwards was Ahmed Raza (11) while in 50 overs play they lost their nine wickets.

Ashiq Ali for his third wicket broke the slender partnership Shaiman and Usman shared while Khushdil Shah took the wicket of a dangerman Ashfaq and Rameez Shahzad.
