Five overs through, and Malaysia had made only 7 runs for 2.

Wan Julia was next to go – at 10.3 overs, she was dismissed caught by Natthakan Chantham off Suleeporn Laomi for 3. 11 overs completed, and Malaysia stood at a worrying 12 for 4.

Mas Elysa was dismissed for 6 at 15.2 and Mahirah Izzati was dismissed for 5 at 15.5. Intan Jamahidayu was next to leave after Sirintra Saengsakaorat’s direct throw to the stumps - taking Intan out for 3 at 16.4 overs. Three overs remaining, and Malaysia scored only 26 for 7.

Sisters Sasha and Zumika Azmi took over from here. At 17.1 overs, Sasha Azmi swung a boundary-four for Malaysia. 18 overs through, and Malaysia was at 32 for 7.

In the final over, Zumika Azmi was dismissed caught and bowled by Sornnarin Tippoch at 19.5, and Sasha made the last run for Malaysia – leaving Thailand to chase just 37 to win.
