ACC Youth Asia Cup Cricket Tournament

The ACC Youth Asia Cup brings together dynamic young talent from all over Asia in a spirit of mutual support and enthusiasm to drive the game of cricket forward. While providing youngsters with much needed experience and exposure at international level cricket, this is the ideal venue for spotting potential stars and future national players. The 3rd series is currently being held in Sri Lanka comprising of 8 teams.

In 2012 the finals were tied and the trophy was shared by India and Pakistan. In 2014 India emerged champions.

Currently, India remains unbeaten in Group A with Sri Lanka 2nd, while Bangladesh is 1st in group B with Afghanistan 2nd. Two times finalist Pakistan did not qualify for playoffs since they lost to Afghanistan in the Group stage, much to the surprise of their fans.

Currently the strongest team in the tournament, winning every match played so far.

The batsmen who have displayed promise so far include PP Shaw who has scored 80 runs, Abishek Sharma with 59 runs, HJ Patel at 58 runs, HJ Rana at 52 runs and Shubman Gill at 57 & 78 runs. The Indian bowlers who have proved themselves thus far include RD Chahar with a 5 wicket haul and KL Nagarkoti with a 4 wicket haul.

A force to reckon with, this team lost their first match against Bangladesh but beat Pakistan and Singapore to secure their spot in the playoffs.

The batting stars of this team include Ibrahim Zadran who scored 51 runs, Tariq who scored 59 runs and Darwish Rasooli who scored 92 and 53 runs. On the bowling side, it’s Yousuf Zazai who has a 4 wicket haul and Mujeeb with 4 wickets to his credit.
